Tree Bud Bouquet

I made a "bud bouquet" with some fresh cut twigs on March 4th, 2022. The intent was to have an opportunity to watch bud development up close. I put the branches in jar with water and watched some of the buds develop into leaves. I kept the bouquet out of direct sunlight and changed the water about once a week. It was still going strong after the 6 weeks. I will continue to observe it. It was interesting to see the order in which each developed and how quickly. One of the first to break and fastest to develop was the basswood.
